Years before I was born, my mom opened a fortune cookie that read, "One beam of sunshine will banish the darkness". She kept it with her and committed it to memory.
When I was three years old I was diagnosed with Leukemia, a type of cancer. It put a lot of stress on my family and sometimes we would wonder if anything good would come out of this experience. Eventually we saw it.
Throughout this time, there were so many organizations and people who helped and supported us and really helped us through. They renewed our faith in the goodness of the world and inspired us to push past this dark time.
This design is in honor of all of the beams of sunlight in the world, banishing the darkness from many peoples' lives. It is a reminder that no matter how dark the time you should never give up hope. And it is a reminder to be a beam of sunshine in other peoples' lives.
