Description: How The Story Is Told is a documentary directed by Tommy J. Housman, produced in partnership with Dr. Valerie A. Stein and University of Evansville Student Media. This film follows Journey to Justice, an immersive civil rights education program, as students, teachers, and community members travel through key historical sites — Montgomery, Selma, Birmingham, Jackson, and Memphis — confronting the truth of American racial history. The film investigates how historical narratives are shaped, what stories are funded, and who controls public memory through firsthand experience, interviews, and visual storytelling.

Description: "Power to the people" is a cultural expression and political slogan that has been used in a wide variety of contexts. During the 1960s in the United States, young people began speaking and writing this phrase as a form of rebellion against what they perceived as the oppression by the older generation, especially The Establishment. The Black Panthers used the slogan "All Power to the People" to protest the rich, ruling class domination of society. Pro-democracy students used it to protest America's military campaign in Vietnam.

Description: In 1970, one of the more bizarre chapters in Italian American history began when an infamous Italian American from Brooklyn, NY created the Italian American Civil Rights League! Formed to fight discriminatory representations of Italians in American media and news, the league exploded onto the scene with star-studded and sold out benefit concerts in Madison Square Garden, and, on June 29, 1970, they rallied nearly 100,000 Italian Americans in Manhattan’s Columbus Circle for the first ever “Italian American Unity Day”. Yet, just a year later, the second Unity Day ended in violence and bloodshed, and the IACRL quickly faded into the pages of history. But, for Italian Americans living throughout the east coast in the years between 1970-1971
