By channeling the water through the rock, the people of the Citadel have been able to irrigate a small area of the Wasteland. It is the former stronghold of the paramilitary pseudo-religious cult led by the former pre-apocalypse war hero and decorated military veteran of the Australian Army, Colonel Joseph "Immortan Joe" Moore. later on a more civilized and sophisticated urban society was built after Immortan Joes demise, becoming a town and a home for refugees from across the deserts and a bastion of hope and learning within the Wasteland.
