My longest exposure yet; I can see a few white ghosts on the pond from geese and ducks but other than that it came out pretty well. There were people all over the place in this scene but none of them stood still long enough to get recorded. I was pretty lucky with the stillness of the air as well, it was kind of breezy up to that point in the day. I don't know what made me do it, I could have opened up the aperture some and had a shorter exposure, but I just went ahead and went for it. I actually set an alarm on my phone to tell me to close the shutter. Sather Tower, Berkeley California, 10/1/2011 Sather Tower is a campanile (bell and clock tower) on the University of California, Berkeley campus. It is more commonly known as The Campanile due to its resemblance to the Campanile di San Marco in Venice, and serves as UC Berkeley's most recognizable symbol. It was completed in 1914 and first opened to the public in 1917. The tower stands 307 feet (93.6 m) tall, making it the third tallest bell and clock-tower in the world. Glen Canyon Park, San Francisco (10/22/2011) The backlit Pampas Grass (Cortaderia selloana?) caught my eye (you can also see one across the canyon), and the rays of the rapidly falling sun were just a bonus (helped by the 041 Filter). I pretty much metered for the highlights and subtracted 2EV (placing the pampas grass plumes at zone 7) as I usually do for this B&W slide film. The amazing thing is that the canyon wall was very thin in the negative but is still scannable (and printable).
