The Cootamundra Wattle turns the Australian countryside green & gold and gives us a hint that spring is on the way. It usually blooms around our area in late July. Another from my walk along Mullum Mullum Creek - Black Wattle (Acacia Mearnsii). These flowers - and the foliage - look a lot like Silver Wattle (Acacia Dealbata), which flowers much earlier. The name comes from the tree trunks turning black as they age - not to be confused with Blackwood (Acacia Melanoxylon).
