Green Acres

Green Acres is about Oliver Wendell Douglas (Eddie Albert), a prominent and wealthy New York City attorney, fulfilling his dream to be a farmer, and Lisa Douglas (Eva Gabor), his glamorous Hungarian wife, uprooted unwillingly from an upscale Manhattan penthouse apartment to a dilapidated farm in Hooterville that Oliver purchases from the ever-hustling Mr. Haney, to the disbelief of the residents.

Farewell old friend, until we meet again....pay your respect to Akron's pride and joy with this shirt. Rolling Acres mall opened in Akron, Ohio with Sears and 21 stores on August 6, 1975. JCPenney opened a year later as a second anchor. A new wing was added in 1977, including a third anchor store, Montgomery Ward. Further expansion in 1978 added a new two-story wing called the Promenade, which included a food court called “Prom-N-Eat” (later renamed “Picnic Place”) and local chain O’Neil’s as a fourth anchor. The mall was foreclosed in June 2016. As of October 2016, demolition of the mall had begun with full demolition on the property expected to be complete by October 2017.

The Tea House, Compton Acres Number of views as of 18th July 2018 = 1380. Another shot of the Tea House in the Japanese Garden at Compton Acres, Poole, Dorset, England. Compton Acres was laid out in 1924, in a Victorian mixed style design with seven distinct gardens to wander around and enjoy, including the fine Japanese and Italian Gardens. The Japanese garden is superbly planted with and maintained, with stepping stones and bridges crossing the pond, where large koi swim close to the surface. Date: 8th May 2010. The Italian Villa, Compton Acres Number of views as of 14th August 2018 = 2420. The Italian Villa is a recent addition to the renowned Compton Acres gardens near Canford Cliffs (Poole, Dorset, England). This one features the Petrified Naked Skateboarding championships, though the competitors seem to have lost their wheels. When it comes to photography, it's well documented that the size of your equipment doesn't matter, an opinion probably shared by the chap on the left! To be fair, there had been a sharp frost earlier in the week. Laid out by T.W.Simpson in the 1920s, Compton Acres is claimed to be one of the finest privately owned gardens in Southern England. Be a part of something. The Rolling Acres Mall Mallwalkers Club - Retro styled Akron Ohio defunct shopping mall. Organized in 1985 the club started with a few members but grew to a sizeable 60 members by the late 80's. Don't think for one second they were all old people either, there were employees in their 20's who would come walk before starting their shifts in the mall. Dues were 50 cents a month and were paid the last Monday of the month when they all gathered at the York Steak House. The club was so active they had their own bulletin board that hung in the Higbee court. They even formed a 35-member choir that would perform in the mall's picnic area.

Green Acres

The show centers on the goings-on at the rural Shady Rest Hotel. Widowed Kate Bradley (Bea Benaderet) is the proprietor. Her lazy but lovable Uncle Joe Carson (Edgar Buchanan) supposedly helps her in the day-to-day running of the hotel, while she serves as a mediator in the various minor crises that befall her three beautiful daughters: redhead Betty Jo (Linda Kaye Henning); brunette Bobbie Jo (first Pat Woodell, later Lori Saunders); and blonde Billie Jo (first Jeannine Riley, then Gunilla Hutton, and finally Meredith MacRae). Uncle Joe, when he is not idling in his favorite porch chair, frequently comes up with half-baked get-rich-quick schemes and ill-conceived hotel promotions which end up with him making a fool of himself.

The Hooterville Cannonball is a fictional railroad train featured in Petticoat Junction, an American situation comedy that originally aired on CBS from 1963 to 1970. The train was considered an "important character" by the show's producers, and producer Paul Henning hired railroad historian Gerald M. Best to make sure that the locomotive sounds used on the show were authentic to a train of the same type and age. The 1890s-style train with a whimsical schedule gave the otherwise fanciful show a degree of authenticity; Henning said that "the train's weekly appearances on TV might set the space age back 50 years and drive train buffs insane with delight, but without it our show would lose its character image."
