The Bamburgh castle we see today is a relatively recent structure, but the castle boasts a much longer history. There have been settlements on the site since prehistoric times

The North East of England has a wonderful coastline, rugged coast, sandy beaches, A walk from Seahouses to Bamburgh takes you along the sandy beach and up into the grass covered sand dunes. Here from probably the highest viewpoint in the dunes the coast is shown with Bamburgh Castle to the left.
