After walking across the bridge the previous week from North Sydney & seeing how good the Opera House looked from there with the Vivid Festival lights, I decided to spend a bit of time & wait for some of my favourite colours. It was cold & the high wind was icy, but I was determined to make the trip worthwhile. I liked the lights behind the Opera House as well. Vivid Sydney 2011 ran till June 13 with a fascinating & colourful display of moving lights over the sails of the Opera House. This is the view from the stairs of the Harbour Bridge at The Rocks. Sunrise on Blyth beach, Northumberland on the North East coast of England looking south towards Seaton Sluice with St Mary's Island and lighthouse on the horizon and a flock of seagulls having just taken flight.

The Dog Rose (Rosa canina) is a common sight among hedgerows and woodland. The flowers are usually pink but this example is a lovely pure white and is pictured under a clear blue sky together with some rose hips from previous flowerings.

The Museum of Comtemporary Arts at Circular Quay lit up as part of the Vivid Sydney Music & Light Festival, 2012. The Opera House was less spectacular than in past years but the MCA had a brilliant dynamic display of colours, patterns & graphics & shared the bill with Customs House as the highlight for me of this years festival. If only I had found out about the Amon Tobin music spectacular in the Concert Hall before it had sold out !!! I love the blues so much I'm not sure why I didn't put this up last year. Vivid Sydney 2011 kicked off on May 27, 2011 with a fascinating & colourful display of moving lights over the sails of the Opera House.
