Carisbrooke Hoodie

This painting is based on a photo I took some years ago walking near Carisbrooke on the Isle Of Wight. The path follows a green lane - an historic route that has over centuries of use worn down below the level of the surrounding land. Most of these routes have been turned into roads, but this one remains a dusty lane. Painted in oil on a 10x12 inch board, starting with a big brush, and working wet into wet with ever finer brushes.
