This December morning didn't seem to know what the day would hold with almost black clouds over the calm sea and golden dawn reflecting in the wet sand. The image was taken from the beach at Blyth in Northumberland looking out towards St Mary's Island and Lighthouse on the horizon

Early morning shot in mid January between the old wooden pier and the newer Cambois pier at Blyth in Northumberland. The early morning sky reflects on the sea and highlights the foghorn at the harbour mouth and the ghostly images of the ships on the horizon.

It's not often that the North Sea is as calm as it was on this September morning, hardly a ripple under the cloudy blue sky. There is a small fishing boat just entering the harbour and its occupants must have been well pleased with the weather conditions.
