Village Sign, Wimborne St Giles Number of views as of 13th June 2017 = 230. The village of Wimborne St Giles (7 miles north of Wimborne Minster, in the County of Dorset, England) was established comparatively recently in 1733 as the amalgamation of two much older villages, St Giles and All Hallows, both listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. The sign depicts St Giles, a hermit who apparently lived for many years in a forest near Nimes in Southern France. His sole companion in this time was a red deer. When his retreat was finally discovered by the king's hunters, an arrow aimed at the deer wounded the saint instead. St Giles later became the patron saint of cripples. Date: 19th April 2014. Spike replies with, "Oooh. Poor watcher. Did your life pass before your eyes? "Cuppa tea, cuppa tea, almost got shagged, cuppa tea..."
