Techno 4 is the fourth in a series of individual monotype prints with technology, industry and steam punk as the main themes. Each was created using a gelli plate and hand pulled to produce one original monotype print and one ghost print. I chose to print in blue as I had in mind the colour of architectural drawings.

Each was created using a gelli plate and hand pulled to produce one original monotype print and one ghost print. I chose to print in blue as I had in mind the colour of architectural drawings. I liked the ghost prints as much as the originals so decided to post them here as well - they may look good in the home decor range when matched with the originals - light and dark colour contrast with the same design.

Recently I've been experimenting with printmaking on tetra pak, it's useful because you can destroy it in various ways and come up with very beautiful images, it's a widely acessible material and extremely sensible. For example, I burned, cut, slashed and smashed to name a few of the techniques I used.

This is a Woodcut Print. I have originally inked up the wood before I started cutting it. I rolled around 20 plates with different colours. This sets up the background colours. The following week I took the same piece of wood and started carving out the picture of the flowers and the birds. Inked up the plate and placed it over the already dry colour pieces of paper. The end result is about 20 prints, all of which are unique and different. The prints are printed on University Paper with blue denim ink. THE ORIGINAL PRINT *SOLD* ON THE 20/1/09 *942 views on 21/11/09* This method of woodcutting is where you roll up the plate and then adheve tissue paper to certain places, being careful when laying the paper on top then printing through the press. Since I am no longer a student, my access to the studio and equipment is very limited. I went into my front yard and spread ink onto this leave and transferred it onto a piece of paper. I love fall weather and I love printmaking so this was my quick and easy way of showing homage.

This design is inspired by Tyler Durden from the classic movie, Fight Club. The image was created from a woodblock print that I created.

Hot Air Balloon with Birds 4 is one of a series of monoprints with balloons as the theme. This print was created using a gelli plate, some hand cut stencils and some lino cuts, all of which were hand pulled onto the paper in a series of layers, using acrylic paint.
