With an incredible attraction to anything shiny, a Niffler is a master at hunting for treasures. So long as the treasure glitters enough, a Niffler will be able to find it.
One can spot a Niffler by it’s fluffy black fur, long snout, and small size. Native to Britain, one can also most likely spot one on the traveling goblin who have come to be known for using Nifflers in their hunt for buried treasure.
On top of being master treasure hunters, the Niffler is a master at burrowing. Nifflers can burrow out their lairs up to 20 feet below ground. Within their lairs Nifflers tend to produce 6 to 8 offspring in a single litter.
Nifflers also tend to be very affectionate creatures, however, think twice before taking one home as a pet. Because of their attraction to shiny objects, a home would have one running rampant. Nifflers are known to cause great damage within the confines of a home. Because of this the Niffler has earned a Ministry of Magic Classification of XXX.
