Description

The ancestor of the flying pig is the wild flying boar. Domesticated pig is one of the most numerous large mammals on the planet, but you can't say it about flying pigs. There aren't many who saw them. There aren't many who survived to tell the tale. Flying pigs always live with their heads high in the clouds. Probably you know the phrase "When pigs fly". It's often used as an adynaton, a way of saying that something will never happen. The phrase is often used for intense humorous effect, to scoff at over-ambition. It perfectly illustrates that flying pigs are rare beyond human belief. But there are some who saw those unique creatures. For example Lewis Carroll, author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. In the second book the poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter" poses the question of "whether pigs have wings". John Lennon mentions pigs that run and fly in The Beatles song "I Am the Walrus". Pink Floyd also had a flying pig on the cover of the "Animals" album. One of the songs is even called "Pigs On The Wing". Flying pigs were definately saw by the whole band, because later they have used a flying pig as a prop for their concerts. It lays in your own belief, but some say that flying pigs are real and isn't it a truly beautiful concept? :)
