Walter Thorne needs money to help pay for his dying wife's operation and steals some uranium from the Nuclear Power Plant that he works at for some shady characters. Description: The Man-Thing is a large, slow-moving, empathic, humanoid swamp monster living in the Florida Everglades near a Seminole reservation and the fictitious town of Citrusville in Cypress County, Florida. A young biochemist, Dr. Theodore Sallis, is working in the Everglades as part of the Project Gladiator team, a group of scientists attempting to recreate the Super Soldier Serum. Dr. Sallis is transformed into The Man-Thing through the synergistic interaction of mystical energy and swamp mutagens, coupled with a dose of the Super Soldier Serum. Though the beast now lacks a normal human intellect and has shed any desire to communicate with human society, it nevertheless often becomes an accidental hero as it stumbles upon people in need.

Description: Chamber of Chills was a 10-cent horror anthology published bimonthly by Harvey Publications that ran 26 issues (June 1951 - Dec. 1954). This design includes a reproduction of issue #19 which most people might recognize as the source inspiration of The Misfits sixth single, Die, Die My Darling. This version includes a well-aged vintage look with plenty of yellowing and cracking to give it a true old-school look. A clean white version is also available in more shop if that's more your style.

Description: This illustration celebrating Swamp Thing, my absolute favorite hero in the comic book world, was created using pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, and digital mediums. I want to give 100% inspirational credit to the original 70s Swamp Thing creators Bernie Wrightson and Len Wein, and then Alan Moore, John Totleben, and Steve Bissette for beautifully reinventing the series in the 80s.
