Trend Fun Kids T-Shirts

This is a little different for me and I wasn't even 100% sure I should upload it, but my husband and my son really liked it (both versions) so I decided to upload it after all.

This portrait is based on a photo I took of one of our precious cats. His name was Umzi, and he died more than a year ago now, but we still miss him. This is for you, Umzi. : )

Oil on canvas My December was spent far away from my computer which meant no photography, no t-shirt designing, no digital artwork, no redbubble!! I thought I would be lost with no creative outlet, but my husband suggested I paint. So I did. This is a painting of my daughter, Tane. It has been 4 years since I last painted in oils, I feel very rusty. : ) Next time I'm far away from my computer, I'm gonna try again.

My amazingly generous husband came home with an iPad for me last week. Out of the blue and COMPLETELY unexpected, like all the best surprises are. He's been listening to me talking about the wonderful work I've seen here on redbubble done by other artists with iPads (particularly Karin Taylor) and decided to spoil me. (Imagine, a husband who listens!)

Sometimes I let my inner color-crazy child out to play. : )

Yesterday I was given some pomegranates - beautiful, breathtaking objects that they are - so of course I had to make something of them. (Thank you, Ryan and Karen!) A lot of things about this pattern are outside of my comfort zone, I tend towards blues & greens, soft pastels and neutrals, and this is, well, red and magenta and super contrasty and bold. My adviser here at home (by which I mean my wonderful daughter) tells me it's okay to work outside of my comfort zone, sometimes.

Decided to play some more with colours. : )

Back to my favorite colors and patterns; throw in a bit of mint, a bit of aqua, some texture and doodles, and there ya go - I'm happy! This took me a whole lot longer than it probably looks like it did...

Had a lot of fun with this, messing around with colours and patterns (as usual.)

I hand painted some Moroccan inspired shapes with watercolor paints and put them together in Photoshop to make a repeat. It took a little while but was very satisfying. I think I'd like to do a series of watercolor patterns ... But then again, I'd like to go to Paris, and that's probably not going to happen, either.

I like doodles, I like flowers, I love Moroccan patterns. Putting them all in one place was very satisfying for me. (Although it took an age to do!) And then, I couldn't choose just one colour version, so this is the second of four. : )
