So, I got this new set of brush tip markers ... : ) A hand drawn doodle in red, aqua / turquoise, white and purple. To little Phoenix, one day I will tell you how I prayed for you and thought of you all day long while I was drawing this. May God bless you and keep you.

I wanted to make strawberry patterns, first with a simple photograph with the strawberries arranged in some semblance of a polka dot pattern and secondly, digitally using the strawberries to make a true repeat pattern. Just experimenting and playing with ideas. So this is the photo version, obviously.

Had a lot of fun with this, messing around with colours and patterns (as usual.)

I spent a lovely afternoon yesterday, with a new pencil, clean paper, mellow music playing and flowers on the table in front of me that my six year old picked for me in the garden. This is what came of it. : )

Vivid watercolor yellow lemons & bright orange ice pops on a black & charcoal grey background, with silvery leaves & colored pencil sketch outlines.

A simple pattern of honeycomb or hexagon marble, quartz and stone tiles in shades of pale pastel rose quartz, amethyst purple, peach white and grey.

Oh, I do love watercolors! I love how they bring their own quirks and whimsy to the party, how you can't always control them just how you'd like, but how they always end up charming you with their waywardness. : )

Abstract alcohol ink.

I'm really enjoying experimenting with watercolour & acrylic inks, using washes to explore texture & colour. The leaves were hand drawn with an ink pen, a kind of meditative, zentangle / doodle drawing - very relaxing to do.

It has actually been raining in my garden all day - so lovely and so needed. This pattern was created from a single, hand drawn, ink doodle.

I just want to play with colour and pattern for a while. (Of course, that is what I always do, but sometimes I feel I end up taking myself too seriously.... this is me, just enjoying pink. I think it is important to enjoy pink from time to time.) ☺

... not when cats have wings. : ) Yesterday was a lazy Saturday with gloomy, rainy weather, so I sat and doodled and this is what I drew. Who knew there was a winged wildcat in my pencil just waiting to get out? The wings are transparent and will change colour according to the colour of the tee. Hand drawn with graphite pencil, coloured in Photoshop.
