My version of my favourite greek myth, Medusa, with a baroque feel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y0aOt… "O Medusa velut luna statu variabilis, semper crescis aut decrescis; vita detestabilis" Lyrics version taken from Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi, Carmina Burana

Medusa, an ancient being with a head full of snakes, capable of turning any living creature into stone when they look upon her face. The Medusa's head was used as a gorgoneion in ancient times, a decoration on shields and armours for protection. I drew the Medusa with her eyes wide and staring down on her victims, while being expressionless like a statue herself. The sword was placed below her head, reflecting Perseus eventually killed her by severing her head.

Snake's alive! Looks like someone's havin' a bad hair day! This is one attention grabber for anyone who adorns the face of the most feared goddess of legend. Don't stare too long 'cause you might start feelin' a little stiff....
