Myths Laptop Cases
Star Woman or Sky Woman is the Iroquois mother goddess, who descended to earth by falling through a hole in the sky. She was a celestial being who was cast out of the heavens either for violating a taboo or through her jealous husband's treachery; waterbirds carried her down to the sea and set her on the back of a turtle, which became her home (Turtle Island.) Sky Woman is either the grandmother or the mother (depending on the version) of the twin culture heroes Sky-Holder and Flint, sometimes known as Good Spirit and Bad Spirit. I created this as a promo piece in Painter. It's reinterpreted here using an engraving technique for a woodblock print.

Gaia - 2010, Acrylic Painting We lose our souls if we lose the experience of the forest, the butterflies, the song of the birds, if we can't see the stars at night. there is need for awareness that the mountains and rivers and all living things, the sky and its sun and moon and clouds all constitute a healing, sustaining sacred presence for humans which they need as much for their psychic integrity as for their physical nourishment.
