The Tasmanian Devil is a marsupial peak predator. It was made famous by the Warner Brothers cartoon character 'Taz'. In the wild it is limited to Tasmania although in the past was found on the Australian mainland. Currently it is endangered by the usual factors but also by a facial tumour disease. This, a kind of cancer, is spread by them biting each other.

The Tasmanian devil is a carnivorous marsupial belonging to the family Dasyuridae. Tasmanian devils were once abundant on mainland Australia but are now found in the wild only on the island of Tasmania. Besides just being cute, this devil design is intended to draw attention to and encourage support for protecting endangered animals.
