Quetzalcoatl is an extraordinary god. It occurs in various incarnations, has been known all over Mesoamerica (for example under the name Kulkulcan in the Mayas) and to make the confusion perfect, a famous Toltec ruler also adopted this name.

A psychedelic take on the feathered serpent god of ancient Mexico

The name Quetzalcoatl literally means "feathered snake". The Nahuatl word quetzalli means "long green feather" (Molina: ), but later came to be applied also to the bird who give these feathers: the Resplendent Quetzal. Quetzal feathers were a rare and precious commodity in the Aztec culture. So the combination of quetzalli "precious feather" and coatl "snake" has often been interpreted as signifying a serpent with the feathers of Quetzal. The meaning of his local name in other Mesoamerican languages is similar. The Maya of Yucatán knew him as Kukulk'an; the K'iche-Maya of Guatemala, as Guk'umatz, both names can be translated as "feathersnake".

Quetzalcoatl is a deity in Aztec culture and literature. Among the Aztecs, he was related to wind, Venus, Sun, merchants, arts, crafts, knowledge, and learning. He was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood.

Quetzalcoatl was one of the most important gods in ancient Mesoamerica, the god known as the Plumed Serpent. I did this based on Shenron from DBZ.
