Judy Garland Notebooks
Judy at Carnegie Hall. This concert appearance, on the night of Sunday April 23, 1961, has been called "the greatest night in show business history". Garland's live performances were big successes at the time and her record company wanted to capture that energy onto a recording. The double album became a hit, both critically and commercially. The album won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, making Garland the first woman to win the award.

To the queer community, Judy Garland’s Dorothy Gale from ‘The Wizard of OZ’ was one of the first true Divas. Before Cher, Barbra, Madonna, or Lady Gaga, to be gay meant you were a ‘Friend of Dorothy’. Flash forward a nearly half a century. A new generation (and the older) found another Dorothy to call friend. Bea Arthur’s Dorothy Zbornak called to us, her blunt stare made it clear that she wasn’t going to take your sh*t. She was strong, confident, and fierce – long before that became a common term in our community. Celebrate your love for BOTH Dorothy Gale and Dorothy Zbornak with this original design. And thank you for being a friend of TECHNOQueer, too!
