Studio Aegis Notebooks
A towering beast of a man decked out in grim silver armor and billowing white wolf pelts oversees his latest conquest. Another pathetic fiefdom consumed in azure flame. It was barely a few steps above your average farming village. They had placed all their faith into the might of their glimmering Sun Knights to protect them. They were fools. To think that 900 plus so called knights playing at war could ever have hoped to stand against the might of 400 true battle hardened Warriors.

White Wolf one of the four dreaded standard bearers of the Fang clutched a ruined banner in his left hand. The once gilded banner was slathered in the blood of its people. The number of fiefdoms left to oppose the Fang were starting to dwindle. Soon enough everything would be ready for the Dark Lady to arrive. Soon the elite would be gifted their new immortal bodies and finally be rid of their pathetic human nature.

The gleaming standard bearer strode through the carnage of the still burning keep, his massive steps splashing pools of blood in his wake. A scout suddenly came rushing past the eerie flames.

"Sir!!! A reported from the front! Black Wolf has fallen in personal combat!! His units have scattered into the night!"

White Wolf spun around and slammed the scout into the wall pinning his throat with the staff of his banner. His one eye glowing red with rage.

"What did you SAY! That's impossible! Black Wolf has NEVER been beaten in single combat not even by ME!!! Who was it! Tell me or I'll have your life you miserable whelp!"

The scout struggled to breath pinned down by his commanders inhuman strength.

"It was an outsider... urk... a knight foreign to these lands... Koff!... no one's seen him before... He was... urg... mixed in with the Sun Knight's main force that Black Wolf slew in the forest..."

The scouts turning blue in the face could only choke from that point his words garbled.

"...Choke!... a... aladin... A Paladin!!!"

With that the towering White Wolf dropped the scout. He crumpled to the ground in a heap violently coughing up blood.

"This can't be happening." He thought to himself. "We're too close to be suffering such staggering losses now!"

He slammed the hilt of his giant banner onto the marble floor cracking the stone, and sending a reverberating chime throughout the remains of the keep.

"Send word quickly to Brown Wolf and Blue Wolf! Tell them to fold Black Wolfs remaining men into their own ranks and proceed quickly to the east and west as planned. I alone will pick up Black Wolf's slack. I want this lone knight identified and hunted down. Send our best hunters to track him down. The Dark Lady will devour your souls if word of another setback reaches her ears!!!"

His scouts practically trip over themselves to carry their commanders orders to the rest of the men. White wolf looks up toward the moon as he exits the collapsing structure. Its azure gleam becoming obscured by heavy clouds.

"The night is ruined, we'll be set back seven years or more for this loss. The Dark lady will have my head for this if I don't speed up our efforts to compensate for this egregious loss. The commander disappears into the azure flames his garb and banner mysteriously untouched by its unearthly blaze.

In the depths of some God forsaken forest lay a petite child. Her bare skin stands out in stark contrast to the dead lifeless trees surrounding here. In these woods the sun is rarely capable of piercing into the unending gloom. The child's gently parted lips are coated in a bright red blood.

Coiled tight like a ball among some tall grass the girl lays there seemingly ignorant of the terrible cold. Thunder booms in the distance as a drop of water as if on cue falls onto her nose from the branches above. Plip... plip...plop.

She springs into an upright position as if moving on instinct. Her still foggy mind struggles to keep up with the explosion of sensory information her body is feeding her. As her mind slowly catches on to her predicament a look of abject terror falls upon her. She looses a high pitch squeal and covers herself up with her arms looking back and forth in a panic.

"Wh... where are my clothes??"

A sudden gust of wind reveals her crimson riding hood dangling from a tree branch. Without even thinking she makes a mad dash for the shredded article of clothing. Quickly wrapping herself up in its folds as she clutches her shoulders sobbing uncontrollably, her entire body quivering like a wounded bird.

"Why... why does this keep happening to me???"

she suddenly notices her hands. They are painted with wet blood. This revelation is hammered home when she realizes how profoundly the taste of blood is coating her mouth.

"I... I was eating rabbits that's all, only rabbits. They we...They were r.. rabbits. Rabbits!!"

As she repeats the phrase over and over to herself shards of broken memories flit about through her fractured mind. Images of horrified women and children bathed in red screaming. Their high pitched cries drown out the girls own words.

A sudden tingling sensation comes over the girls fingers, she stares at them in confusion. Her pupils start to constrict into pin points. She watches horrified as her hands begin to broaden and elongate revealing wicked sets of claws. She doubles over and starts convulsing in pain.

"Mother... what did... you do... to me???"

The Knight dropped to his knees as glowing slime splashed up to his waist; his strength was abandoning him. He felt so heavy. It took every ounce of his being to keep himself upright, leaning onto his corroded blade for support.

Countless piles of bones long since stripped of their flesh peeked out at him mournfully from the swamps murk. All of them bleached with that same arcane bluish hue. He could barely breath. Just what sort of poison had that vile temptress infected him with? His world was starting to spin out of control.

"Hrmhmhmhm," A rich throaty laughter emanated from the eerie fog. The dusky woman slinked up to him barely causing so much as a ripple amongst the endless pools of glowing slime. She wrapped her arms around the dying Paladin caressing his tarnished chest plate affectionately.

"I've never seen some one resist their toxin for so long. You really are quite amazing. Are you sure you don't want to reconsider your choice?" The man clenched his teeth desperate for some way to break free of her grasp, but she had an impossibly strong grip over him.

She drew close and whispered into his ear.

"You don't have to die here you know? You can become my king, we could rule these lands together." Here alluring words tinged with honey. "I'm sure we could find all sorts of ways to enjoy each other." she said while softly caressing his armor. Her supple lips curled back in a devilish grin revealing a wicked set of canine like fangs.

"Of course there are other ways to have fun in this world," A deep guttural growl emanated from the darkness. Dozens of glassy orbs appeared out of nowhere as a massive serpentine beast encircled the two. Their eyes burned like fiery coals matched only by the temptresses own predatory gaze.

Thoughts of better days long since past flitted across the Paladin's mind. Days spent playing Knights with his little brother among the aromatic grass of the emerald plains, death was fast approaching.

"A... nother..." he chocked

"What's that?" she leaned in close with mounting interest.

"Another will be here soon... and he will put an end to the ugliness in your heart..." The Knight bowed his head resigned to his fate.

The woman's lustful smile collapsed into a vengeful frown. She backed away from the dying man, no longer amused.

"This won't end quickly..." She hissed, her voice now filled with venom and spite.

The many heads of the hydra gaped open in sync revealing hundreds of dagger like fangs. They're high pitched cries pierced deep into the ethereal night as their glowing maws rushed the Knight simultaneously.

"Such a waste." The scorned woman turned away in disgust and slinked back into the fog.

Not so much as a scream escaped the Paladin's lips as he was torn asunder by the ravenous Hydra. It caused great amounts of frustration to the demonic woman.

Aegis Dynamics was founded from a merger between Earth-based Aegis Macrocomputing and Davien-based Dynamic Production Systems, with the explicit goal of constructing naval spacecraft. The firm was favoured by Ivar Messer, and thus grew to prominence during the First Tevarin War. During the Messer Era, Aegis craft became synonymous with the ruthless, oppressive regime. After the Fall of the Imperator, most of Aegis’ military contracts were stripped, and the company seemed destined for bankruptcy, with massive layoffs. However, the Aegis craft began to be adopted by civilians, repurposed for non-military uses. In turn, the firm has shifted, softening its image and focusing on civilian variants for their current generation designs. These days, Aegis only produces a few craft. The old Retaliator bombers have been re-purposed for widespread use as a deep-space transport or hauling vessel. The Idris Frigate (named after the the battle of Idris IV) has been demilitarized for private ownership, even though entrepreneurial pirate packs have been known to spring for one.
