Blue chair in the shade. To set up another composition for a lockdown watercolour at my home I placed this old chair under the nectarine tree in my finca in Andalucia. I liked the contrast of the light and shade. The hens, always appreciative of human company, came to see what I was doing and posed obligingly. I sell my original paintings direct to collectors all over the world and am happy to quote for this watercolour including delivery to your home.

This one is just as cool as the one with the black lettering, although you can get away with some darker shirt colors with a white font. Still sleek and sexy, this University Diversity design expresses the continuous goal of maintaining a diverse atmosphere at UD. Not just racially within the student body, but ideologically. Different ideas are extremely important if you expect to learn anything about your own ideas. Maybe that's why the two words share a bunch of letters!

Succulent in Granulating Watercolor, by Conni Schaftenaar This past week in watercolor class we did a small study of a succulent painted primarily with "granulating" watercolors. The loveliness of granulating colors is that the coarser grains of pigment settle across a wash area. If you look closely at the individual petals, you'll see the texture that granulation adds. Each petal was wet with clear water, then touched with two or three granulating colors that were allowed to settle. A little cleanup around the white petal edges, and it was done! This chicken was one that I actually had. her name was Lady. I had to give her up when we moved to an island, unfortunately. She was an amazing chicken. Very talkative and loving. She was an Easter Egger, and laid blue eggs. I really miss her.

This is my acrylic painting of the Delaware state bird and flower, which are the blue hen and peach blossoms. Fighting blue hen cocks were carried by Delaware Revolutionary war soldiers for entertainment during cockfights. Delaware has the reputation as the “Peach State” since they had so many orchards at one time. Delaware was admitted to the union on December 7, 1787 as the first state. This painting is part of my state birds and flowers collection.
