These three arrows on a red background also known as the Anti-Fascist Circle, is the logo of the Iron Front (German: Eiserne Front), a movement founded in Germany by the Social Democrats and the Workers' Party in 1931 to counter the rise of Nazism (SPOILER : they didn't make it) The logo was designed by Sergei Stepanovich Chakhotin a Russian born in Istanbul who, after graduating in medicine, first became Ivan Pavlov's assistant (yes, the dog drooling in response to a certain stimulus) and then studied the psychology of Nazi propaganda analizing the mechanisms of grip on people and trying, at the same time, to warn the Germans about what was happening but his warnings went unheeded. This t-shirt kills fascism.

This color photograph shows 617 Chartres St, which is home to The Jamie Hayes Gallery in the French Quarter of New Orleans shows the window filled front of the gallery which offers a view in from the street, while the more traditional style balcony with shutters beside the windows/doors. A street lamp stands where the next building begins. The early morning light created some deep shadows along with bright sections which makes this black and white an a glowing look. The bright reds of the far building, along with the bright white of it's balcony really helps make the photograph pop, while the more muted colors (salmon...maybe...I'm not good at identifying color names past the primary colors) of the gallery helps to keep the photograph ba...

The following series shows various balconies, doors and windows photographed while walking the streets of Lisbon. Some were quite interesting in their design and colours; others were intriguing to photograph because of their unusual structural characteristics, while others were photographed to depict the beauty in their ugliness. As you peruse this collection you will notice that most were quite lacking in their paint job, others were questionable when it comes to how straight they were or how safe they are, etc... You be the judge which is which. Nevertheless, there is some form of beauty in every one of them. All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series l...
