This is part of my ongoing series about animals that went extinct after 1500. The Thylacine may be the most prominent example of a supposed extinct animal. Despite that the last known individual died in 1936 in a Zoo in Hobart/Tasmania, there have been sightings of this marsupial on Tasmania and even Australia where it is thought to be extinct for 3,000 years.
Once a species is gone, it's gone. The Carolina Parakeet once darkened the skies of the east coast of the US, but it was driven to extinction by hunting because it was considered a nuisance to crops. Remember this gorgeous little parrot with a depressing t-shirt.
The dinosaurs pattern inspired by some kinds of dinosaurs, like Tyrannosaurus, Stegosaurus, Brontosaurus and Triceratops and decorated with ethnic accessories on their back. The illustration is done with watercolor.
