It has actually been raining in my garden all day - so lovely and so needed. This pattern was created from a single, hand drawn, ink doodle.

Oh, I do love watercolors! I love how they bring their own quirks and whimsy to the party, how you can't always control them just how you'd like, but how they always end up charming you with their waywardness. : )

This is a drawing that Tane (8) did for me, and that I coloured by hand and in photoshop. They are (from left to right) Tane, Grace, Perrin and Mila, my lovely daughters. Grace has asked for this as a T shirt.

Had a lot of fun with this, messing around with colours and patterns (as usual.)

So, I got this new set of brush tip markers ... : ) A hand drawn doodle in red, aqua / turquoise, white and purple. To little Phoenix, one day I will tell you how I prayed for you and thought of you all day long while I was drawing this. May God bless you and keep you.

I can sit and doodle all day, the hours just disappear. This is a hand drawn doodle of mine, with added butterflies. : )

I spent a lovely afternoon yesterday, with a new pencil, clean paper, mellow music playing and flowers on the table in front of me that my six year old picked for me in the garden. This is what came of it. : )

I wanted to make strawberry patterns, first with a simple photograph with the strawberries arranged in some semblance of a polka dot pattern and secondly, digitally using the strawberries to make a true repeat pattern. Just experimenting and playing with ideas. So this is the photo version, obviously.

Mixing my favourite patterns and doodles with some delicious colours that I happen to like. Like baking, only not as fattening...

I'm really enjoying experimenting with watercolour & acrylic inks, using washes to explore texture & colour. The leaves were hand drawn with an ink pen, a kind of meditative, zentangle / doodle drawing - very relaxing to do.
