The 55th Medical Group deployed to Vietnam and participated in 11 campaigns of the conflict there: Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase II, Counteroffensive Phase III, Tet Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase IV, Counteroffensive Phase V, Counteroffensive Phase VI, Tet 69/Counteroffensive, Summer-Fall 1969, Winter-Spring 1970, and Sanctuary Counteroffensive. The Group was inactivated on 25 June 1970 in Vietnam.

Millions of medical staff sacrifice themselves to battle the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite the shortage of medical protective gears and appliances, they still fight for their patient's lives and never gives up. We salute you for your sacrifice.

Arrived in Vietnam on 1967-09-24, and was stationed at Bien Hoa as part of the 44th Medical Brigade. Group Became operational on 1967-10-23. Group reassigned to Da Nang to support XXIV Corps in February 1968. Group returned to CONUS on 1972-01-30. During the Vietnam War the 93rd Evacuation Hospital admitted 73,023 patients, treated 9,353 battle casualties, and had over 232,581 out-patient visits. The 93rd Evacuation Hospital particiated in and received 13 campaign streamers, and depicted on 3 streamers for sustained and outstanding performance of duty. The unit recieved the Meritorious Unit Citation (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), and the Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Honor Medal, First Class Streamer Vietnam 69-70.

The 93rd Evacuation Hospital was a make-over of the 61st Surgical Hospital and operated through World War II, Vietnam, and the Gulf War.
