What Life With A Chronic Illness Is Like: Ran Out Of Spoons is about Spoon Theory, a metaphor for how much energy (spoons) a person has available each day, and how spoonies have a limited number, forcing them to carefully plan each day to not run out of spoons.

"I think it'll take too many spoons to shower today, so I'll just use dry shampoo today and shower tomorrow." "I used up my spoons faster than I thought today, so I think I'd better go home." Many illnesses and diseases are invisible yet still very physical. It’s hard for people to understand when they can’t see it. These different awareness ribbons will help to show support and raise awareness for these hidden conditions.

Juggling comorbidities is no picnic. One diagnosis leads to another, which triggers the next, and so on. Managing each diagnosis on its own is enough work, let alone managing several different disorders and syndromes. We might as well have some fun with it.

Many illnesses and diseases are invisible yet still very physical. It’s hard for people to understand when they can’t see it. These different awareness ribbons will help to show support and raise awareness for these hidden conditions.

People often shame chronically ill people by saying they are lazy. Much like Sam the sloth who likes to sit peacefully and meditate. It's a way of saving our energy and sometimes we have no choice but to sit still and rest for a while.

Sometimes when you have an invisible chronic illness, you have that incredible urge to say your feelings out loud! With these straight to the point phases, you can look awesome whilst also stating your inner thoughts and feelings for the whole world to see. Why hide behind a fake smile, suffer in silence and tediously explain why you 'don't look sick' but feel sick? It's not fair, So let's state the obvious!
