I’ve noticed that crest designs have been going around recently and I thought I would get in on that action and do a crest for a favorite, and classic game, “Dig Dug.” I have always loved “Dig Dug,” and the retro feel it gives which I also feel I pulled off somewhat with the design.

Dig Dug (ディグダグ Digu Dagu) was an arcade game developed and published by Namco in Japan in 1982. It ran on Namco Galaga hardware, and was published outside Japan by Atari. The objective of Dig Dug was to eliminate underground-dwelling monsters by inflating them with an air pump until they explode, or by dropping rocks on them. This Dig Dug t-shirt features the original Japanese name set in Kanji along with Dig Dug, a Fygar and a Pooka. This version includes some subtle vintage effects to give it some 80's cred.

Being a dad of 2 boys and witnessing the power of a child’s imagination, I’ve built my fair share of cardboard box forts and played the role of the evil villain countless times. My own childhood favorites, like the ones that inspired this parody, are the kinds of things that I like to share with my kids.
