Tom Baker played the Fourth Doctor from 1974 to 1981 - the longest tenure as the time traveling alien from Gallifrey. He seems to be the Doctor that all Doctors are invariably compared to - he was funny, witty, dramatic, unpredictable, adventurous, and eccentric. His iconic scarf came about when the costume designer commissioned a lady to knit a colorful scarf. He gave her a bunch of wool and simply told her to go at it. And so she did, knitting the scarf until she used all the wool she'd been given. By the time she finished, the scarf was long enough to wrap around Baker's neck and still have both ends drag on the floor despite his 6' 3" height. About 24 feet. "There's no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes."

For season 11 of Doctor Who, I decided to try something new and create a movie-style poster for each episode. After watching the episode, I'd pick a movie poster and use it as inspiration. And I'd try to incorporate all the important characters and key details.

I was watching a documentary a while back about an artist. He recommended artists should exaggerate features, so I thought I'd give it a try. I quite like it.

For most of his life, the Doctor was able to successfully project a convivial and even frivolous front. However, when he had to engage in conflict, the Doctor's energies would shift to reveal a fiercely protective man who resolutely guarded what he held dear, and who could be viciously unforgiving to the forces that dared menace them.

The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called "the Doctor", an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. With various companions, the Doctor combats foes, works to save civilisations and helps people in need.
