WKRP in Cincinnati is an American sitcom television series that features the misadventures of the staff of a struggling fictional radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio. The show was created by Hugh Wilson and was based upon his experiences working in advertising sales at Top 40 radio station WQXI in Atlanta.
In the mid-'70s, Omega Man and Planet of the Apes were hot sci-fi films garnering a lot of public interest, so when you're looking for a new comic book title, why not merge themes from both hit movies and give it a vampire twist? Surely it can't lose, right? Sadly, 1975's Planet of Vampires didn't cut it and only made it for three issues before the title was canceled by its publisher.
