Following the discontinuation of the Demon, the Redeye was created to fill the void. Essentially a heavily upgraded Hellcat, the Redeye is equipped with a slightly less powerful (due to a smaller hood intake system) Demon engine: a supercharged 6.2L V8 producing 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 90 hp (67 kW) and 11 lb⋅ft (15 N⋅m) over the standard Hellcat motor. In 1982's Six Pack, Kenny Rogers plays Brewster (Brew) Baker, an itinerant racing-car driver. Notwithstanding Brew's nickname, the six pack of the title refers to cute kids, not to beers. Cute kids who are orphans, whose specialties are either stripping or repairing racing cars, depending on how they feel about the owner. The kids steal Brew's engine when the film begins, but pretty soon he becomes a father figure to them and they fall into working as his pit crew. It's about as '80s as they come and super family friendly, but a good watch nonetheless.

The Ansen Automotive company traces its roots to a machinist named Louis Senter, a California native and machinist's mate in the Navy during World War II. Louis opened Senter Engineering with his brother in Los Angeles, where they worked on custom machining for hot rodders. The Senter brothers found another partner in engine building specialist Jack Andrews in 1947, and the trio combined their last names to re-christen the business Ansen Automotive Engineering. The new firm developed many go-fast parts as well as began building dry lakes racers, midgets and drag racers in-house. Ansen Automotive speed shop was also where Louis developed complete engines that were popular with racecar drivers, moonshiners and the revenue agents chasing them.
