Of all the musical fish C Minor is the most flamboyant. Its bizarre lifestyle means that its ecological environment is saved from deep sea angling by setting up psychedelic waves of such nautical strangeness that fishermen turn vegetarian and go home to bake nut roasts.

Had the idea to remake my old "Wish You Were Here" seaside postcard in the illustrated style of something from 100 years ago. I couldn't really find corollaries of a couple of the elements so, while there are a couple of familiar faces here, that proved to just be the starting point for what has perhaps become my most intricate piece to date?

STRANGE MAN: I wonder where that fish has gone. STRANGE WOMAN: You did love it so. You looked after it like a son. STRANGE MAN: And it went wherever I did go. STRANGE WOMAN: Is it in the cupboard? AUDIENCE: Yes! Yes! No!... STRANGE WOMAN: Wouldn't you like to know? It was a lovely little fish. STRANGE MAN: And it went wherever I did go. MAN IN AUDIENCE: It's behind the sofa! STRANGE WOMAN: Where can that fish be? MAN IN AUDIENCE: Have you thought of the drawers in the bureau?! RANDOM: Shh! STRANGE WOMAN: It is a most elusive fish! STRANGE MAN: And it went wherever I did go. STRANGE WOMAN: Ooooh, fishy, fishy, fishy fish! STRANGE MAN: A-fish, a-fish, a-fish, a-fishy, ooooh. STRANGE WOMAN: Ooooh...

This is a real fish!

The weird musical fish, are a strange phenomenon, but G flat isn't a favourite note. It has strange gothic resonances that put you in mind of bizarre psychedelic marine practices of occult origin.

The strange, psychedelic musical fish were a favourite of The Doctor's. F sharp was particularly adept at playing the nautical harmonica, and though it sounded weird it set up resonances that dissuaded deep sea fishermen from angling in its habitat. It also sang like Bob Dylan, but underwater, most people do.
