We all loved the break out series of the season Atlanta on FX. Donald Glover’s dark comedy about nothing and everything at the same time. If you’re a fan of the show and original art, you will enjoy my rendition of the 3 main characters of the show Earn, Paper Boi and Darius.

From the series “Code”, oil and graphite pencil on paper, original size 30 x 30 cm. A map is an imprint, a sign of man in the landscape. An alien intelligence, observing our cities from the great distances of the space, could interpret them as the characters of an alphabet, sort of messages, a code of signs, each one different from the other, each with its own meaning and its own syntax. This hypothetical alien presence may not even realize that these cities have a purpose and a function, which are the product of the way we have adapted to live on this planet, but it could engage in an attempt to interpret this unknown language, identifying the alphabet and associating to each character a precise meaning. We will still be able to understand and share this new meanings, or will they have lost any sense for us? ORIGINAL SOLD: www.saatchiart.com/ico71

Take my love, take my land Take me where I cannot stand I don't care, I'm still free You can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black Tell them I ain't comin' back Burn the land and boil the sea You can't take the sky from me. Leave the men where they lay They'll never see another day Lost my soul, lost my dream You can't take the sky from me. I feel the black reaching out I hear its song without a doubt I still hear and I still see That you can't take the sky from me. Lost my love, lost my land Lost the last place I could stand There's no place I can be Since I've found Serenity And you can't take the sky from me
