Rohozec Brewery is located in the village of Malý Rohozec (part of Turnov , Semily district ). Part of the brewery complex is a castle , built in 1640 and rebuilt in 1834 in the pseudo - Renaissance style. The brewery was founded by factory owner Ferdinand Unger in 1850 ; after him it was run by his son and grandson. In 1910, he sold the brewery to the newly established company Společenský pivovar a velkostatek hostinských, sro In 1948 , the brewery was nationalized and became part of Severočeské pivovary, later part of Východočeské pivovary.

The Augustiner Brewery was first mentioned by name in 1328, established within an Augustianian Monastery which had been settled just outside the Munich city walls in an area called Haberfeld (or Haferfeld – "oat field") in 1294. The Monastery complex was the largest sacred building in Munich until the completion of the Frauenkirche cathedral in 1494. The Augustinian monks supplied beer to the Bavarian Royal Wittelsbach family until 1589, at which time the Hofbräu brewery was founded.

Back in 1933, William B. Wreford along with other investors purchased the property that became known as the Sebewaing Brewing Company. With a capital stock of $150,000, they established a goal of 20,000 barrels per year of Sebewaing Old Style. The then Sebewaing Beverage Company retained many of the existing stockholders. A modest 12 to 15 employees were planned to begin the operation. William B. Wreford was quite active with different business ventures in the Detroit area during the the early 1900’s. He also dabbled in the political landscape as the photo shows. He was the first president of the brewery after prohibition ended and held that office until 1936.

Goebel Brewing Company was a brewing company in Detroit, Michigan from 1873 to 1964 eventually acquired late in its existence by Stroh Brewery Company. The beer was locally popular in Detroit from the company's inception, but grew in popularity and was eventually available in many states for a brief period in the 1940s, with an ad campaign in Life magazine that featured restaurant ads from many famous eateries around the country using Goebel beer as an ingredient. The beer, billed as a "light lager", was golden in color, and was noticeably drier than most everyday beers of the era. Their longtime mascot was a bantam, called Brewster Rooster, who wore attire with Goebel's logo, and the beer was a long-time sponsor of Detroit Tigers baseball.

Originally named Smilův Brod in honor of the town's owner, Smil (present-day Havlíčkův Brod) was changed to Německý Brod due to the settlement of German people. That's important because Německý Brod's German settlers won the right to brew beer in the 14th Century when King Jan of Luxembourg gave contractual rights to Německý Brod's owner, Jindřich of Lipé.

Three decades ago, Reinhard and Trudy Schulte, a flush couple from Bavaria, had an idea: open a small, more traditional brewery in Montana. The idea was born of the necessity of finding decent beer not only in an America awash in watery light lagers, but in one of the nation’s most sparsely populated states. In the mid-1980s, Montana had about 800,000 people spread over its more than 147,000 square miles (that’s nearly three North Carolinas). The Schultes lived on several hundred acres outside of Missoula, a city near the Idaho border best-known as the home of the University of Montana, so they picked it for their brewery.

The Northern Brewing Company was founded in 1890 by Louis Rueping and John A. Klinkert as the KIinkert Brewing Company. Both Klinkert and Rueping had worked many years in the brewing business before setting up this brewery in West Superior, Wisconsin. After Klinkert's partnership ended in 1898, Louis Rueping renamed the original brewery the L. Rueping Company. In the following months, he reorganized and incorporated the Northern Brewing Company. Northern eventually grew to become one of Superior's most prosperous industries. At one time, Northern beer outsold the combined sales of all other brands in the city.

The Pilsener Brewing Co., once located at the southwest corner of Clark Ave. and W. 65th St. in Cleveland, was established by Bohemian brewer Wenzel Medlin in 1892 and was incorporated the following year. The corner site of the Pilsener Brewing Co. was once known as Pilsener Square. The name Pilsener comes from the Czech city of Pilsen, where the light Bohemian lager beer was first made. In 1917 Pilsener produced 4 different brews: P.O.C. (which stood for "Pilsner of Cleveland"), Gold Top, Extra Pilsener Beer, and Pilsener Dark Lager; consumers received coupons for the return of empty bottles and exchanged them for premiums in a Pilsener catalog. Brewery operations were interrupted by prohibition, but bottling resumed on 2 May 1933.

The Herrenhäuser Brewery (Herrenhäuser Brauerei) was founded in 1868 in the Herrenhausen district of Hannover, Germany. There are number of breweries in Hannover, e.g. Gilde brewery was founded about 300 years earlier. Herrenhäuser introduced the first kosher pilsener beer to the European market called Herrenhäuser Kosher. The company was originally established under the name Brauerei Wölfler & Wedekind Herrenhausen.

German immigrant Gottlieb Gluek used the brewing methods of his home country in the brewery he established along the northern reaches of the Mississippi River in 1857. The business preceded the establishment of the state of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis. The next year, Gluek produced 3,996 barrels of beer. A March 1880 fire destroyed the brewery. No lives were lost directly but the founder died the following October at the age of 52, taxed by the loss and the effort to rebuild. Only partially covered by insurance, the Gluek family lost $20,000 and used their funds to rebuild a larger, more modern facility and continue the operation.

The Columbus Brewing Company was founded in 1905 by George Rambour and focused on producing just a couple of brews until the onset of Prohibition in 1917 changed things dramatically. At that point, they incorporated as the “Columbus Beverage Company” decided to continue with the production of a near beer. George Rambour weathered the storm and outlasted the Prohibition era to come out on the other side ready to start brewing again for all to enjoy in Columbus and this time, with a full line of brews. The line up of beers included Pawnee Dark, All-American Draught, All-American Light, All-American Draught Bock, All-American, Bock Beer, and a Holiday Special. Trucks filled with the new brews promptly rolled out a 12:01 am on Aug 10, 1933.

Belikin - the Beer of Belize

The Iroquois Brewery was successor to the Jacob Roos Brewery, originally founded in 1842. Much of the Iroquois advertising that appeared after prohibition cites this 1842 date as the brewery's founding. The brewery was located between Hickory and Pratt Streets in Buffalo, N.Y. It was operated by Jacob Roos and, after his death, by George Roos, until 1892, when it was sold to Leonard Burgwerger. Burgwerger razed the buildings and built a new brewery on the site. This was the start of the Iroquois Brewing Company. Iroquois survived prohibition by brewing soda and near beer, and reopened shortly after prohibition ended in April 1933. Iroquois grew and prospered after prohibition and became the largest brewer in Buffalo.
