Muscle Car Tapestries
Description: AMC was notorious for taking on the big three in its own way. When it came to the muscle car market the AMC approach was unique, with performance that could give the big boys a run for their money. “The Machine” came with a flamboyant red, white, and blue paint scheme that made as much of statement as its 340-horsepower V8. From the factory this Rebel was poised as a street legal drag race car and could run mid-14s in the quarter mile. The distinctive ram-air hood scoop and hood-mounted tachometer contributed to the car’s performance-minded attitude. “The Machine” was no poser; developed in collaboration with Hurst Performance, it could put down the power via the “Twin-Grip” Positraction style differential.
Description: In the early 1960s, Lee Iacocca, vice president and general manager of Ford, envisioned a sporty youth-market car based on the compact Falcon. Developed in record time on a shoe-string budget, Ford introduced the 1965 Mustang at the World's Fair on April 17, 1964, to instant acclaim. Ford planned for 100,000 first-year sales, but dealers sold 22,000 on the first day. The Ford Mustang launched a whole new genre of automobiles, known as pony cars.

Description: Bill Hays' claim to fame was, without question, his high performance racing clutches, but in the early '70s, he began toying with ignition systems. Legend has it that Bill wanted to simply call his new venture Hays Ignition, but was unable to, because of contractual obligations he had with another national brand. This led to the launch of Hays Stinger Ignition, which was named after the actual product he had come up with – The Stinger. These ignition systems were built to run with high horsepower, high compression engines, and could rule the drag strip all day long without fail. While they haven't been produced for decades, there are still plenty of used and new setups out there for sale, and just as many still on the street today.
Description: During the height of the muscle car era, gas was cheap and, relatively speaking, so were high horsepower street machines. From the local drag strip to late night traffic light races, gear head drag racers were everywhere, and so were the gas fumes. While nobody was actually drunk on gasoline, the goofy smiles on everyone's faces from being in the presence of these heavy metal street machines doing their thing certainly gave the appearance of being a bit loaded. Here's to the American muscle car!
Description: T-Shirt iron-ons from the 70s and 80s have a truly unique style that never really caught on in any other medium, but their fragile nature makes them tough to find decades later. This design celebrates these great examples of period t-shirt art by recreating the style with plenty of vintage wear and tear to make it look the part.
Description: Sensing a distinct need for high-performance street and strip tires during the Golden Era of muscle cars, Formula Tires was founded in 1968 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. To fill that need, Formula designed their Formula 1 Super Stock line, creating an instant hit that gave day two muscle cars the drag racing look with bold white sidewall lettering and a tight tread pattern that gave a racing slick appearance. Of course, these tires weren't just about good looks - they were built to perform as well, and hooked up exceptionally well on the strip, but also handled great when cruising the boulevard.
Description: The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford from March 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition.
