The Viking army finally got its backside kicked at the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066, the Norse army being broken by the Saxon knights of King Harold. They reputedly never smiled again!

From an original engraving Cassell's history of England circa 1901 Please note there may be some age related marks from the original which will show also on any print ordered. This is inevitable with prints of this age & actually lends an authentic look to the print in my opinion.
