This is Levi, three weeks old. The hands belong to his five big brothers: Jacob (18), Joshua (16), Johnny (13), Hudson (6) and Reilly (3). It is the cutest thing to have your teenage boys argue over whose turn it is to hold the baby... that's when they can get him away from ME, not to mention his big sisters who are always asking for a turn, too. Sometimes they let his Dad hold him, too... This is little Levi, 18 months old tomorrow. This is my 23rd work in my 52 week challenge (did last weeks late and this week I'm a little early, but it still counts, right?) I've had this idea for a while and have been longing to try it, but it didn't turn out nearly how I hoped it would. But I thought I would post it anyway, all that work! I might try and re-do it someday. But not today. : ) Two of my own original photographs, manipulated in Photoshop.

... the real reason cats always lie on the keyboard when you're trying to get work done - they're control freaks!! Note how my little Cat, Somerset Rose, has got the control button surrounded and under surveillance. (Yup, believe it or not, there is a real live cat under all that fur.) My 25th work for my 52 week challenge. (I'm a bit behind, my 52 weeks might take something like 56 weeks to complete. But I haven't given up yet, only almost.)

This expression is what you get when you really feel like messing around with portraiture and your little muse does NOT. My long suffering sweetheart, Mila, posed for me anyway, after telling me "But my tummy doesn't feel like photographs, Mommy!" (She was climbing a tree at the time, I went looking for her in the garden, and photographed her there. This is number 16 in my 52 week challenge. This is Mila (nearly 6) and Somerset Rose (Summer for short.) I thought long and hard about uploading this one, as I think it is not a very good photograph, technically speaking. And Summer is so supernaturally furry that she doesn't really look much like a cat at all... more like a hairy, squishy, unidentifiable soft toy.
