USS Ramage (DDG-61) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer of the United States Navy. The ship is named for Vice Admiral Lawson P. Ramage, a notable submarine commander and Medal of Honor recipient in World War II. In October of 2018, Ramage received short-notice Presidential tasking, and deployed to the US Navy 4th fleet area of responsibility to provide radar surveillance support for the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She departed Norfolk, Virginia on 25 August 2018, and returned soon.

In July 1958 it looked like Lebanon (a US ally at the time) would descend into a civil war, caused by increased tension between moderate christians and muslims. Lebanon had a moderate, pro-western government at the time. Fearing that his government would topple to a muslim rebellion, the Lebanese President called on the US for help. Enter "Operation Blue Bat". US Army Europe already had a contingency plan for rapidly deploying forces to respond to a crisis in the mid-east. The plan called for nearly 14,000 Soldiers and Marines, with most of the Army personnel coming from the 24th Airborne Brigade of the 24th Division. The Army element was known as "Task Force 201". The US Soldiers and Marines arrived in Lebanon in late July of 1958

The 7th Battalion 13th Artillery was formed at Fort Irwin, California in July, 1966. They traveled to Vietnam on the USNS Barrett, departing San Diego on October 8, 1966, arriving on October 28 at the port of Qui Nhon. They proceeded to LZ Hammond and the 1st Air Cavalry Division. As an independent battalion in the 41st Artillery Group, 1st Field Force, they operated mainly in the Central Highlands. Their three 6 gun batteries of 105mm howitzers were experienced in airmobile operations supporting the 1st Air Cav, the 4th Division, the 173 Airborne Brigade, plus Special Forces, ARVN and ROK troops. By the time they stood down in October, 1970 they had fired over 1 million rounds and lost 13 soldiers killed in action.

The 864th Engineer Battalion is a combat engineer battalion of the United States Army based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. The battalion is a subordinate unit of 555th Engineer Brigade. In January 1991, the battalion deployed to Saudi Arabia for eight months in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. During this period, the 864th was responsible for construction of 290 miles of petroleum pipeline, the repair and maintenance of main supply routes, enemy prisoner of war camp construction, and provided emergency services restoration to Kuwait City.

The 3d Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (3d MEB) was a United States Army brigade located at Fort Richardson, Alaska. The 3d MEB was one of three active duty Maneuver Enhancement Brigades. The Brigade was tasked to improve the movement capabilities and rear area security for commanders at division level or higher. It was inactivated in 2011 and replaced by the 2d Engineer Brigade.

The 58th Infantry Regiment is a regiment of the United States Army first established in 1917. On 15 May 1965 Company C was activated in Germany at Nellingen, Germany,11 May 1965, under the provisions of TOE 7-157E (Infantry Long Range Patrol Company). On 17 June 2015 the Special Troops Battalion, 173d ABCT was officially reflagged as the 54th Engineer Battalion, a unit with a lineage separate from that of the STB, 173d ABCT.It has since added a second combat engineer company to the ranks.The brigade began its fourth deployment to Afghanistan in early 2010.

Vietnamese Airborne Division was among the elite fighting forces in the ARVN and placed as a reserve unit along with the Republic of Vietnam Marine Division. The 23d CBRN Battalion is a Chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives defense battalion of the United States Army, part of the 2ID Sustainment Brigade of the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Humphreys, Korea. It traces its lineage back to the 1944 formation of the 23rd Chemical Smoke Generator Battalion in England during World War II. The 23rd was inactivated after the end of the war and reactivated in 1949 as the 4th Chemical Smoke Generator Battalion, serving in the Korean War before being inactivated in Germany at the end of the 1950s. The 23rd Chemical Battalion was reactivated in Korea in 1988.

ASA units usually operated in four groups using revolving shifts to provide coverage twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Upon its arrival at Artillery Kaserne, the 46th Group was assigned to Seventh Army Artillery and within thirty days it had been given a Command Maintenance Inspection, an Operational Readiness Test, and declared fully operational. In July of 1959 the Group was attached to VII Corps Artillery for peacetime administration and operations only. The subordination to VII Corps Artillery lasted until July 1960 when the Group reverted to Seventh Army Artillery control.

On 15 November 1965, the most radical reorganization in the history of the National Guard took place on orders of Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara creating a Selected Reserve Force (SRF or "super-ready force"). The Second Brigade, Forty-sixth Infantry Division, was designated the headquarters for SRF units in Michigan, with the Third Battalion 126th Infantry designated as West Michigan’s SRF battalion. All Michigan elements of the SRF were additionally assigned to the Thirty-eighth Infantry Division of Indiana, an SRF division in the event of mobilization.

In April 1963, the 56th Artillery Group was activated in Schwäbisch Gmünd, West Germany commanded by Col. Douglas C. France, Jr. The group prepared for the deployment of the new weapons system, the Pershing 1 nuclear missile. Headquarters & Headquarters Battery (HHB) was initially stationed at Hardt Kaserne (formerly Adolf Hitler Kaserne) and moved to Bismarck Kaserne in November 1968. The 56th Artillery Group was redesignated as the 56th Artillery Brigade on 17 August 1970.

The 44th Medical Brigade was reactivated on 21 September 1974 at Fort Bragg. On 16 July 1993, the 44th Medical Brigade became a separate Major Subordinate Command reporting directly to the XVIII Corps with a General Officer commanding.
