Do you like cats? I do. They're awesome. They sleep all day. They purr when you pet them. They crap in a box like magic. They chase imaginary lizards. Cats have the good life. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

You ever stopped to think how strange it is that we can see pictures in our mind? There's this organic, squishy, electrical blob contained in a mostly collagen and calcium shell covered in more squishy junk, and it can see things that don't exist. It's weird. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

Not my normal kind of drawing, but I saw a similar image and thought it would be fun to draw. It was pretty relaxing to work on. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

Saw a moth recently and was inspired. I used a Lunar Moth as the reference for the drawing initially because they have really beautiful wings. While I was working on it, I got to thinking about a game I love playing called Terraria. There's an event in the game where monster spawn rates go into overdrive and everything is just meaner. It's call the Blood Moon. I decided to use red instead of the green normally seen with a Lunar Moth. My aim wasn't to make an "evil" critter though, so I used blues in the background elements. Cooled it all off with morning dew on spider's silk. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

My nephews and niece and now even my son like to watch me draw. If I'm not already working on something, I'll ask them what I should draw. "Crazy pickle!" was the answer I got the last time I asked. So here he is the pickle who lost his brine! http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

When I was younger, my dad would get a ton of crawfish, boil 'em up in a big ole pot full of corn, taters and mushrooms (yuck). He'd dump 'em in the middle of the table after it had been covered in newspaper and we'd all chow down. Dad is a beast with crawfish. He can down about 4 or 5 in the time it takes anyone else to munch 1. I can't suck the crawfish heads though. I had to dissect them in high school. I know too much now... Those were good times though. Do you eat crawfish? If so, do you suck the head? http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

If I had 8 arms, I could do SO much. Work on my computer while I play on my phone, draw on my tablet, and still have 2 hands left to do things like point menacingly, throw out gang signs or practice Drow sign language in case I visit the Underdark one day (nerd cred, yo). Contrary to popular belief penguins are excellent ice sculptors. To prove it, here's a waddle of penguins showing off their skills. They are so excited you will enjoy it, some even started poppin' out eggs. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

Happy 4th of July everyone! Hope y'all are all having a safe and awesome time (that goes for you too, non-American friends)! This is the first year we're shooting off fireworks with Mini AD, my 3 year old son. We shot off a handful on Saturday night. After 4-5 bundles of bottle rockets, I finally convinced him to help me light some. For those gasping in shock, no, I did not let him play with fire. We have little lighter sticks and I held his hand. It was a blast (hehe)! We're excited to shoot off some more tonight. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

We sometimes visit the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans and they have a small penguin exhibit. They are always so much fun to watch. Whether waddling around or gliding through the water, they are always so energetic. And they dress amazing. Those tuxedos! Dapper, son! http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

Aliens make no sense to me. They have advanced technology and can travel the galaxy with their super awesome saucers that are able to make mind numbingly intricate maneuvers in the sky. Yet they constantly finger diddle rednecks in the mountains. Who travels lightyears to probe a loaf pincher? If Neil Armstrong had found life on the moon, you think we'd be probing some lunar sphincters? The things that make you go hmmm. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

When I was in college, we'd often have to put our artwork in front of the class and everyone would critique it. There was this one guy that always did the strangest color combinations. Most of the time they worked really well. One day someone asked him why he used pink. He was confused and said he thought he used green. Turns out he's color blind. Saw a test recently that reminded me of that story and inspired this piece. What do you see? http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

I have no idea why, but Mini AD, my 3 year old son, thinks it's hilarious to say chicken tater head. Recently he wanted to sit on my lap while I worked. I decided to let him choose what I drew and all the details surrounding it with a little guidance. Of course he wants me to draw chicken tater head. To the right is the drawing I quickly did with him. On the left is the final version. To be honest, I think adding a chicken's wattles to a potato looks a bit obscene. Thankfully he's innocent and loved the drawing. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

There's times when I draw something completely random, I need to save the file and I just stare at it trying to think of something clever or cool... but nothing comes to mind. What's it called when you spin the basketball on your finger? >Google< Ok, "Spin Basketball on Your Finger". Not what I expected, but that makes sense... There's an eye and an amputated hand. Eye Hand? Cheesy. Eye Amputate? Interesting but meh... Eye Finger? Giggity! So there you have it... the thought process behind saving a random file. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

I have a couple personal rules with the internet. "Don't Google parasites" is top of the list. That search is always going to end in some ungodly long worm squirming out the butt of some helpless critter... Zombie fungus is an exception to the rule. It's in the same genus as the inspiration behind the fungus that affects Crab. Ophiocordyceps. Really fascinating stuff. If you're brave, Google it! http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

Most people assume the T-Rex was so aggressive due to being an apex predator (or a scavenger depending on where you read). I have a different theory. It's because of those tiny arms and that one booger. He can't even do a proper snot rocket to shoot that puppy out. http://www.artisticdyslexia.com/

I could not decide which direction I wanted to go with this drawing's description. Do I joke about Doughboy getting a yeast infection and letting it go too long? Do I joke about him not wrapping his bread stick and a wild night of muffin diving? Then it dawned on me... I can do both! So I did. Want to see how this and other drawings happen?
