There were a lot of weird things in the Victorian era, but floriology has got to be one of its most eccentric quirks. I've always been intrigued by dictionaries called The Language of Flowers. These books showed cryptic ways to send messages to your lover. But why stop at saying things like "my affections are pure" or "I will be faithful and true"? I think it would be a lot more helpful to have a subtle way to express "stop leaving your underwear on my floor" or "you're being clingy, dude".
