Description: Beginnings in the Journey of Life. My aim is to portray the beginning of a journey. The little girl is entering a garden filled with wonder and mystery. The journey of life is filled with beginnings. Numerous beginnings. Beginnings filled with hope, mystery, wonder, excitement, anticipation and probably much, much more. As youngsters, we begin by learning and exploring. I hope we retain that curiosity throughout our lives and the many beginnings which follow. A new beginning may present itself unexpectedly, leaving us feeling anxious, excited or vulnerable. Regardless, beginnings are to be embraced. The lessons to be learned are valuable, launching us into new beginnings filled with what was previously out of our reach.
Description: Daily Artwork No.10 6" x 6" gessoed panel, Genesis heat-set artist oils. This sweet painting was inspired from a gorgeous photo from www.pixabay.com. I love all the elements here. Light and dark, and warm and cool colours resulting from the setting sun. Also large brush strokes in the shadows and less brushstrike detail in the distance which allows the setting sun to shine. The detail on the girls is scant, it is the complementary colours that make the focal point. Am I making any sense??? Think I might be waffling a bit now, but this is another of my favourites. :)
Description: This watercolour painting is special as it is a compilation of memories rather than a true depiction of the Snowy Mountains, NSW. We went down there for a holiday 2010 and stayed at the caravan park which is just inside the national park area. The cabin was lovely and it snowed two days in a row down at the caravan park! Yes great memories :)
Description: Genesis heat set oils on stretched canvas 30x 40cm. This painting makes me smile, not quite sure why, but it does. Anyway, it grew from 2 photos and a sense of adventure. The background with the old buildings depicts our past and the horse taking flight represents us escaping from the haunts of our past.
Description: Our geese are the inspiration for this painting. The geese are a fascinating creature and sitting on our steps watching them is a pleasant and relaxing activity. Unfortunately though the yard where our geese reside is not very pleasing to the eye, there are bushes and just a netting fence around it. The pond is not big either. So when one morning the light and shadows were really lovely I took some photos and then proceeded to give our geese a nicer environment, at least in theis painting. The distance background is true to life just not the forground setting. The goslings under the middle goose were actually our geese when they were babies :) Genesis heat set oils on 40cm x 30cm stretched canvas. Featured Painting the country life an...
