Description: Daily Artwork No.10 6" x 6" gessoed panel, Genesis heat-set artist oils. This sweet painting was inspired from a gorgeous photo from www.pixabay.com. I love all the elements here. Light and dark, and warm and cool colours resulting from the setting sun. Also large brush strokes in the shadows and less brushstrike detail in the distance which allows the setting sun to shine. The detail on the girls is scant, it is the complementary colours that make the focal point. Am I making any sense??? Think I might be waffling a bit now, but this is another of my favourites. :)
Description: A gorgeous Kookaburra came to look for grubs in our Lockyer Valley farmyard this morning, so I stalked him with my camera. What else could I do, I mean he made such a beautiful sight. :-) Then of course I just had to draw him. Here is the result. Soft pastels on 18cm x 24.75cm watercolour card (Bockingford watercolour paper, acid free, 300g/m², CP)
Description: Memories of when I was a little girl Something I loved about my childhood was the chance to visit our friends place when the milking was on. ‘Helping’ and feeling like a very big girl doing it. A huge thrill when walking into the milking shed, awe at the large cows, fear of getting stood on (despite staying very close to mum) and excitement at getting to be so close to the action. Of course the much awaited treat was a glass of fresh warm milk.
Description: This watercolour painting is special as it is a compilation of memories rather than a true depiction of the Snowy Mountains, NSW. We went down there for a holiday 2010 and stayed at the caravan park which is just inside the national park area. The cabin was lovely and it snowed two days in a row down at the caravan park! Yes great memories :)
Description: Acrylic on canvas of an old truck in a paddock near our home here in the Lockyer Valley. The shed in the background is also disused and falling apart. Weeds abound. Just in need of some love :) and hard work perhaps :D Featured in Painters Universe 8th March 2012 Featured in Country Bumpkin 9th March 2012
Description: Genesis heat set oils on stretched canvas 30x 40cm. This painting makes me smile, not quite sure why, but it does. Anyway, it grew from 2 photos and a sense of adventure. The background with the old buildings depicts our past and the horse taking flight represents us escaping from the haunts of our past.
