Description: Genesis heat set oils on stretched canvas 30cm x 40cm. This is based on a photo of a little girl in her ballerina outfit from the wetcanvas reference library. My aim wasn't to get a perfect likeness but rather to create a mood and feeling. I love how it turned out in the end. Sometimes I get to a point in a painting where I see something I like and know that I must stop even if according to my plan it might not be finished. That happened with this.
Description: Going for a walk in the garden and stopping to admire the flowering pelargoniums brings me so much joy. These are watercolour paintings of the red pelargoniums. They are so bright and cheerful but at the same time peaceful. I love how they turned out. My hope is that you too will love them.
Description: ‘In The Morning Light’ is the result of coming across a gorgeous reference photo in the wetcanvas reference library, so a big thank you to JEFrantz for the reference photo. What attracted me to the photo reference in the first instance was the lovely light throughout the picture. It so looks like a scene in early morning light. The main colours are all the blues and then for a bit of variation the pink and some green. And of course the browns in the floor and window sill. I’m very pleased how this painting worked out. :)
Description: This painting of mine hangs above my computer desk, and I love it! Anyways, I thought you all might like to enjoy it as well. I painted it in acrylics a few years ago. It was inspired by a visit to Australia Zoo when our children were much younger and this emu peaked over their enclosure fence. So curious. I didn't trust him to not peck me though. To fit the image nicely on the device cases I cropped the image a little. Check out the greeting cards to find it there also.
Description: Our geese are the inspiration for this painting. The geese are a fascinating creature and sitting on our steps watching them is a pleasant and relaxing activity. Unfortunately though the yard where our geese reside is not very pleasing to the eye, there are bushes and just a netting fence around it. The pond is not big either. So when one morning the light and shadows were really lovely I took some photos and then proceeded to give our geese a nicer environment, at least in theis painting. The distance background is true to life just not the forground setting. The goslings under the middle goose were actually our geese when they were babies :) Genesis heat set oils on 40cm x 30cm stretched canvas. Featured Painting the country life an...
Description: On our recent holiday to the beautiful North Queensland, we came across some Rainbow Lorikeets. This particular one came straight towards me while I was taking photos of him. He looked to be of the cheeky variety. So I thought the appropriate name for this painting would be ‘Investigator’. He was a bold one too. ‘Investigator’
