The scene depicts the mountains above the Eisenhower Tunnel which connects Denver on the east to the Lake Dillon area on the western side of the tunnel. The highway that takes you up over Loveland Pass was the only way across the continental divide prior to the tunnel being built. The pass rises to an elevation of 11,991 feet which takes you above tree line.
