Description: One of the very first shots I ever took with DIGITAL camera vs film; 2004 Las Vegas from the MGM Grand looking toward New York New York. Originally taken with a Sony 707, 5mp. Then, my girlfriend at the time and I enjoyed a Godiva Chocolate Martini in the Big Apple Bar NYNY, along with a George Hamilton cigar (he has a humidor inside NYNY, or at least did). I had moved there following the Northridge Quake; this was in July of that year.
Description: Redondo Beach, California. This is where I grew up. As the decades pass it is STILL beautiful and inspiring, NOT crowded even in Summer (Ssshhh!) and a wonderful place to bike ride up the path which stretches from Palos Verdes to Venice. Spent many a day on this pier fishing as a child, and Tony's Restaurant is the best!
Description: Little Richard at his Hollywood Walk of Stars ceremony in the 80s. True story: I was in a Sunset Blvd coffee shop a couple of years later, and in walked Little Richard with an entourage. He sat RIGHT next to me. We talked about life and God and other things. During the conversation I mentioned that I'd photographed him getting his star. He said "Oh my God, you know I NEVER received any pictures of that event!" He gave me his PO Box, and I sent him a print. So thanks to me, Little Richard has this picture of himself getting his award. God Bless this legend!
Description: Second tall shot of Matt Damon receiving his Hollywood Walk of Stars award July 25, 2007. Hard to believe we're coming up on a decade since I took this. Time flies. I've photographed many celebrities; Mr. Damon is one of the very most polite and kind you could hope to meet. He deserves his brilliant and long lasting career. After this ceremony, when bodyguard & LAPD were escorting him to his car, a little girl came up and asked for an autograph. He stopped in the middle of the crowd, bent down and talked to her. I captured THAT moment and it's one of the nicest I've ever caught on camera. Awesome guy.
Description: The first time I ever saw Michelle Pfeiffer was in Scarface. OMG. However, she did another amazing film, "The Fabulous Baker Boys," with Jeff Bridges. Well, I took this shot and others of her receiving her Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, and Jeff was a guest speaker and presenter. Paul Rudd came, too. Jeff and Paul walked to the crowd to shake hands, and although I got several shots of them both, I had a decision to make - get a closeup of Jeff or shake his hand. I broke the photographers' rule and SHOOK HIS HAND. To this day, a special memory. Michelle was so deserving of this and it was a blast. I need to have a life again. LOL.
