Chiari Malformation, in very vague terms, means Angie's brain is "oozing" out of the base of her skull, and smashing her spinal cord.
The brain surgery that Angie is having is going to make the hole from her brain to her spinal cord bigger so it's not so smooshed.
This will hopefully reduce her daily excruciating pain and improve her quality of life.
It Ain't Rocket Science, y'all. It's BRAIN SURGERY!
March 1st Angie will be having her decompression surgery. It'll be 3 to 5 days in the hospital and 4 to 6 weeks recovery and starting of physical therapy.
Then follow ups, and yearly appointments to keep an eye on her neck strength and all over pain, and possibly another surgery!
