If you remember the 1980s and 90s on the Southside of Birmingham, Alabama, then you probably had a drink at Joe (Joe Bar). Or at least you should have. It was originally located in the studio arts building in Five Points South until it burned in 1986. Joe moved to the Lakeview District on 7th Avenue South and eventually a house on 29th Street South.

Burly Earl's or "The Burly Earl" was a restaurant and bar in the southside of Birmingham, Alabama that was open from 1976 to 2008. This logo was found on a matchbook from the late 1970s.

Tango was a "fancy" restaurant in the 1970s located above Brookwood Mall in the Brookwood Metroplex. There was a dining room and a disco for guests to enjoy. An outdoor board promoted the restaurant with two staring eyes and the headline "Take me to Tango."

This Rapper's Delight phrase is the one that stays in my mind all these decades.
