Comedic Prophet Bag

George Carlin (1937-2008) was a prophetic genius and an influential comedian of the 20th century. Often mischaracterized as a misanthrope, his brutal but hilarious commentary on the human condition was actually a symptom of deep love and empathy, that transmuted shadow into satire and shattered delusion with derision. All of his brilliantly crafted words have proven true in one way or another, and it would do us well to remember them, because as wisdom teaches us, “Laugh at the devil and he shall flee.”
